Throwback Thursday: Thank You India

So I won’t bore you all with stories about how I “found myself in India”

(But if you are interested, you can read about it here!)

Instead I will take this meander down memory lane via my favourite pics of my time living in India, last year. I have to admit that I am very nostalgic for that time of adventure and simplicity.

Hitting Up The 011: Part Two

My bestie took us to a lovely cafe called Lucky Bean. We got all dolled up, and feasted outside on the porch overlooking the trendy streets of Melville. I had a veggie quinoa dish and the rest tucked into meaty lamb shanks and pastries.

On Sunday, we awoke to yet another sun soaked day. We put on our best spring outfits and headed to Arts On Main for their market and some breakie. This used to be my favourite spot when living in PTA.

I had a mung-bean flat bread and freshly squeezed pineapple juice. We waltzed in between the art and clothing with a lazy Sunday swagger.

Was also lucky enough to do a little shopping at Melrose Arch later that day, so that I could get my hands on the new Rihanna MAC collection.

Here’s what I got thanks to Jozi and my BFF:

1. Black headscarf for the turban trend I intend to master.

2. Denim cut off jacket from Kitcheners

3. MAC natural lipliner and RiRi mascara

4. Organic Vegan Chili Chocolate. Mmmm.

5. Gold coral necklace

6.Black sunnies ( You can never have too many pairs now can you?)

7.Mickey Mouse printed tee

LOVING my RiRi mascara.

Hitting Up The 011:Part One

Last weekend I missioned up to Jozi or Hate City as I have heard some affectionately call it. I hadn’t seen my best friend in ages and my beloved Skunk Anansie were playing at In The City, so what a better time to take a day off work and hop on a delightfully empty flight.

After some amazing Indian Cuisine and a few rollies, we got ready for one of the best concerts I have seen in some time. The acts were energetic and the organizing spot-on. To be jamming in the middle of the bustling city to the likes of The Hives, Alt J and of course,Skunk, was a pretty darn great experience.Mouse had asked months ago if we could make black floral headbands, and as you can see, I delivered.

On Saturday,we hit up Neighbourgoods Market. When I was studying in PTA, we used to go when it was a small little vibe. Lovely to see how much it has grown and the type of support JHB markets get. We noshed some amazeballs Zimbabwean foods and miny crumpets drenched in maple syrup. What diet?

Next up was the raddest market at Kitcheners. The DJ spun some chilled reggae beats and I scooped up some cool items for my wardrobe. I would have moved into this place if I had the chance – just my kind of scene!
