Prom Queen

It’s been a crazy year of new jobs and hard graft so I gladly welcomed our annual Christmas party, with open arms. This year, it was prom themed so I went all out with an OTT skirt, crimped hair and regrettable glitter. As per usual, the Gloss Lady and I had to document the occasion with a cringey photo shoot, so check out what I wore!

Ears/Topshop   Lipstick/Amplified by MAC    Crop/Factorie    Necklace/MRP   Bag/Thrifted in London   Nails/Courtney Shaw     Skirt/Imagination Costume Hire       Shoes/Truworths

Things.

A little countdown of little things that made me happy this past week.

6. Skulley

I have always had rats growing up. I usually get them in pairs, but Skulley is a lone rat who gets my undivided attention. He is the 9th rat that I have had in my lifetime and I am never not surprised by the intelligence and personality each of these little guys bring into my life. Skull is about 2 months old and we have had him for a month. The rest of the girls in my house have grown to love him just as much as I do,and love watching him knot himself into my hair when he is sitting on my shoulder. My boyfriend who was skeptical about this rodent to begin with, now loves him more than I do.

5. Coca-Cola in a glass bottle.

Had a lovely Sunday afternoon with me dad, sitting at Wilson’s Warf, taking in the salty harbour air and drinking an ice cold Coke out of a glass bottle.

4. Small Lauren

Boss Lady Lauren, asked me to help with hair and makeup for a wedding she was attending. I had a lot of fun mixing Mac Lippies to get the perfect shade of red and plaiting Baby’s Breathe into her blonde locks. Isn’t she a babe?

PS: This wasn’t done due to assistant abuse, it due to was a bribe of wine and muffins instead 🙂

3. 031

Spotted this beat up old book on Durban, at the Breathing Space while we were waiting for a film on the Dalai Lama to begin. It had some gems in there,I must say.

2.Pegs

Yes, pegs. Lauren taught me some new tips and tricks with the lens that I bought from her, so naturally I was eager to get home and try them out. I took it all out on a colourful basket of pegs and was quite stoked with what I had learnt and put into practice.

image1. Pure Fridge Poetry

The fridge at my house has become a bit of a scrapbook for my friends and I. It is my go-to place for random flyers, group photos and a line of poetic inspiration such as “ sad boy I cry when I come” and “ smack my raspberry”.
